About this grant
This grant provides continued general purpose support to Hispanics in Philanthropy, a grantmaker affinity group committed to increasing investments in Latino communities, expanding the participation and leadership of Latinos in the philanthropic sector, and fostering policy change to enhance equity and inclusiveness in philanthropy. Recent initiatives include HIP to College, a program to increase college attendance and retention rates for Latino students; the Latino Age Wave Initiative to meet the needs of Latino senior citizens; and the awarding of $3.2 million in capacity building grants and training to Latino community-based organizations across the country. Some of the group’s main activities over the next three years include launching an online giving platform known as HIPGive; grantmaking for several focused initiatives such as aging, education, and Latino men and boys; advocating for greater investment in local Latino nonprofits and leaders; and educating the philanthropic sector on the needs of Latinos.
