About this grant
Founded in 1970 as the Lake Michigan Federation, the Alliance for the Great Lakes combines research and policy analyses with citizen engagement to improve the health of the Great Lakes. The grantee is based in Chicago and has staff in Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Wisconsin. With prior Mott support, the grantee helped implement the Great Lakes Compact, reduce pollution from water treatment facilities, and build public support for halting the spread of invasive species. Renewed general purpose support will allow the grantee to continue these efforts and invest in its own organizational development.
