About this grant
This grant will enable the Western Organization of Resource Councils Education Project to continue efforts to help grassroots leaders address economic issues that affect low-income residents of the Rocky Mountain and Great Plains regions. The project has been working to establish permanent, multi-issue, membership-based community organizations throughout the Northwest.Multiyear funding will allow the project to provide grassroots leadership training for more than 400 leaders; community organizer training events for approximately 60 participants; staff director training for up to 12 participants; leadership and staff exchanges and cross-networking training for up to 12 participants; special training opportunity for 50 participants; consultation to member organizations; and training manuals and materials.Recent accomplishments included developing new training workshops and materials; creating a staff position to direct training and technical assistance; adding a technology component to the training programs; and continuing expansion efforts in Oregon.
