About this grant

The Quantum Leap Project was created in 1997 to help non-governmental organizations (NGOs) understand the roles and responsibilities of private financial institutions in sustainable development and work with these institutions to develop accountability mechanisms. Multiyear funding will support objectives that include conducting, disseminating and publicizing the results of primary research regarding current trends in international financial flows and the institutions that control them; encouraging NGOs working on reform of multilateral development banks and other reform efforts to expand their activities to include private international financial institutions; and organizing NGOs working on private sector international investment issues in order to develop an ongoing network. The project is transferring management from the National Wildlife Federation to the AIDEnvironment Foundation for Advice and Research for Development and Environment. AIDEnvironment, founded in 1988, is a nonprofit foundation that operates a worldwide network for the conservation of nature and the wise use of natural resources.
