About this grant

The Neighborhood Small Grants Network of the Cleveland Foundation is a group of community foundations that provide small grants to organizations serving low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. Multiyear funding will support objectives including hosting six topical conference calls each year; planning and facilitating a biennial conference in 2006; expanding the information data base on grassroots grantmaking; developing special training modules on grassroots grantmaking for funders who are new to the work; creating a strategic plan; and conducting an evaluation of Mott’s neighborhood small grants program. Additional funding will enable the network’s executive director to increase her workload to nearly full-time status. Recent accomplishments included establishing membership criteria and categories; expanding the topical conference call series; developing peer clinics that offer technical assistance; enhancing the Web site and publishing electronic newsletters; and hosting a one-day conference on evaluating neighborhood capacity-building.
