About this grant

Since late 1999, the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy has been working to raise the awareness and level of strategic corporate philanthropy. The committee has worked to promote, identify and recognize business practices and measures of national and global corporate giving. Funding will enable the committee to establish a corporate giving standard with a common framework; create a corporate giving data center and clearinghouse to inform corporate funders; measure philanthropy in communities as part of the evolving standards; continue to attract business leaders; and assist corporations in increasing the value of philanthropy to their business and society.Key accomplishments included helping to expand corporate philanthropy; supporting corporate leaders in their efforts to better serve communities; communicating with corporate leaders and the community through quarterly newsletters; convening forums and regional meetings; and working with companies and organizations to build common framework of systems to measure and manage corporate contributions to communities.
