About this grant
The Parade of Festivals was created by the Greater Flint Arts Council in 1999 to improve the image of downtown Flint by encouraging residents to participate in existing and newly developed festivals. Funding will enable the council to continue a lunchtime concert series, “Tunes at Noon”; provide financial support to events that are free and open to the public; and promote positive activities in the downtown area. The Parade of Festivals will include weekend family-oriented events on the University of Michigan-Flint campus and various multiday festivals such as the Flint Jazz Festival; the Quilts at the Crossroads Festival; and a new Shakespeare Festival and Film Festival.
