About this grant
Formed in 1988, the council’s core objectives are to provide private sector leadership and input into local economic development policy; promote the development of Bishop International Airport; implement a community collaborative dedicated to improving student performance in county school districts; improve the organization of health care in the Flint area; encourage employers to support more positive family and child outcomes; support a coordinated community agenda among community groups; and facilitate a process of leadership and organizational development.Funding will enable the council to continue working on regional issues and developing community partnerships, primarily focusing on the city of Flint, downtown redevelopment, the Flint Farmer’s Market and Flint area schools.
