About this grant

The Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation supports local community initiatives that focus on identifying and implementing sustainable solutions for problems in the social, health and culture fields. This is accomplished by mobilizing human and financial support for local communities; providing grants, training and mentoring to local partners; piloting new initiatives; and sharing lessons learned at local, national and international levels.Multiyear funding will support objectives that include assisting local organizations and individuals in identifying sustainable solutions to local problems in the social, health and cultural fields; working to improve the situation of vulnerable groups through projects that influence policy changes; mobilizing human and financial resources; and adapting the foundation’s role so as to work more effectively in Romanian society.Recent accomplishments included supporting capacity development of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working with at-risk children and youth; strengthening the capacity of senior citizen organizations to provide better services to their members; opening three community centers in disadvantaged communities to provide services for at-risk children and families; and promoting health education campaigns directed at youth and NGOs.
