About this grant
The Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society at the City University of New York Graduate Center runs an annual international community foundation fellowship program with the aim of enhancing the development of community philanthropy globally. Each year, the program offers emerging leaders and seasoned community foundation practitioners from around the world opportunities to learn more about community foundations through an intensive graduate program of research, seminars, conferences, mentoring, and internships. Since its inception in 1989, the International Community Foundation Fellows Program has provided fellowships to 136 individuals from 50 countries. Due to the economic crisis, the center has encountered unanticipated revenue shortfalls for the second half of 2009. This grant increase will provide bridge funding so that the center can conduct its senior fellows program in the fall. The Research Foundation of the City University of New York administers grants on behalf of the center.
