About this grant
The program goal is to enhance the development of community philanthropy globally. To this end, the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, in cooperation with the City University of New York Graduate Center, runs an annual International Community Foundation Fellows Program. Each year, the program offers emerging leaders and seasoned community foundation practitioners from foreign countries opportunities to learn about community foundations through an intensive graduate program of research, seminars, conferences, mentoring, and internships. To date, the program has provided fellowships to 142 individuals from 54 countries. The program has sparked the creation of new philanthropic ventures and research resources in places as diverse as Argentina, India, Korea, and Ukraine. Founded in 1846, the City University of New York is among the nation’s leading urban public universities. The university’s research foundation was created to expedite and provide oversight of the management of funds obtained by faculty.
