About this grant
Over the past five years, ActionAid Brasil has been instrumental in strengthening the efforts of civil society actors to monitor and influence international trade policies, analyze their impacts in Brazil, and increase public awareness and press coverage of trade and investment issues. The goal of this project is to reform trade policies that negatively impact the environment and sustainable rural development in Brazil. With this renewal, ActionAid Brasil will coordinate and improve the effectiveness of nongovernmental organizations and grassroots groups to influence trade policy at the national and international level; monitor and analyze the impact of new investments aimed at regional integration; and increase nongovernmental organization capacity and policymaker involvement in reforming trade policy in favor of environmentally sustainable development.
