About this grant

In 2001, the Great Lakes’ governors and premiers signed an addendum to the Great Lakes Charter, commonly called "Annex 2001," which established new management principles for the withdrawal and diversion of Great Lakes waters. The National Wildlife Federation has been a leader in this policy arena, both before and after the adoption of Annex 2001. With this grant increase, the National Wildlife Federation will promote full implementation of the Annex 2001 principles by continuing to provide financial support to local and state-level organizations working on the Annex 2001 implementation.
