About this grant

The National Wildlife Federation is a nationwide conservation group with a strong presence in the Great Lakes Basin. With staff based in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Ohio; and Wisconsin, the grantee partners with state-level and local groups to protect, sustain, and restore the Great Lakes ecosystem. Previous Mott support allowed the grantee to develop freshwater policy recommendations, provide scientific and legal assistance to state-level partners, and spearhead public education efforts. Continued support will allow the grantee to protect Great Lakes water quantity and water quality, stop the spread of invasive species, improve pipeline safety, and reduce toxic algal blooms. The grantee will also take steps to develop partnerships with agribusiness and urban community groups.
