About this grant

This grant provides general purpose support to Native Americans in Philanthropy, a grantmaker affinity group dedicated to improvement of philanthropic activity related to Native-American people. The group currently has 120 individual and organizational members. Native Americans in Philanthropy seeks to increase philanthropic investment in Native-American communities and advance the participation and leadership of Native Americans in the philanthropic sector. Recent accomplishments include the delivery of training programs for grassroots Native-American organizations and grantmakers, convenings on leadership and philanthropic partnerships, research on Native-American philanthropy demographics and asset mapping, launching a regranting program to Native-American grassroots groups, and significant Web site enhancements. The current organizational focus includes linking leadership programs nationally, increasing research and communication efforts, and increasing networking among Native-American communities in philanthropy.
