About this grant
The Social Change Assistance Trust was established in 1984 to empower the rural poor to strengthen civil society and promote social change.This grant will enable the trust to implement programs that address community needs such as poverty, access to justice, local economic development and the development of women and youth. Recent activities included publishing a book about its role in bringing about social change in rural communities during the past two decades; participating in an event with visiting members of the Global Philanthropists Circle; strengthening staff capacity through training programs on a range of topics; providing support to 58 local economic development agencies; and launching a Web site.
