About this grant
The Social Change Assistance Trust is a grantmaking organization established in 1984 that predominantly funds rural organizations in order to improve the quality of life in their communities. It supports programs that address human rights, gender equity, HIV/AIDS, and local economic development. Past support assisted the grantee to fund and support community-based advice offices in the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape, and Free State provinces. Over the past two years, the grantee supported community-based paralegals to access accredited training, facilitated peer-to-peer learning among advice offices, and collaborated on a program to monitor government service delivery points in mainly poor areas. This grant will support the grantee to continue to fund community-based advice offices, train and mentor paralegals and management committees in advice offices, monitor government service delivery points, and document its experiences.
