About this grant
This grant provides renewal support to the Council on Foundations for the work of the Community Foundation Leadership Team. Over the past eight years, the team has aided the development of the community foundation field through establishing national standards; promoting best practices; developing and disseminating marketing tools; advocating for a supportive legal and regulatory environment; and conducting research and development on technology, accountability, and organizational and professional development. Through its Plan of Action 2007-2010, the team has focused on being a resource and catalyst for the creation, capture, and sharing of knowledge; enhancing the practice of community leadership; strengthening organizational effectiveness; and ensuring that legislative and regulatory environments are supportive of community foundations. In 2009, main activities will include developing a knowledge system, promoting community leadership, launching the Community Foundations National Standards Board, and managing a grant program for collaborative, innovative projects.
