About this grant
This grant provides support to the Council on Foundations for the work of the Community Foundation Leadership Team. Through its Plan of Action 2007-2010, the team has focused on being a resource and catalyst for the creation, capture, and sharing of knowledge; enhancing the practice of community leadership; strengthening organizational effectiveness; and ensuring that legislative and regulatory environments are supportive of community foundations. In 2009, main activities will include developing a knowledge system; promoting community leadership; launching the Community Foundations National Standards Board; and managing IdeaLab, a grant program for collaborative, innovative projects. This grant increase will support conference stipends for presenters and the videotaping of a 2009 Fall Conference session on community foundations engaging immigrant communities through transnational collaboration, based on the example of the United States and Mexico. The videotape will be placed on several Web sites and promoted through multiple communication vehicles.
