About this grant
The National Center for Family Philanthropy created the Community Foundation Services program to help community foundations work more effectively with donor families. Because wealthy families represent an important source of donations, community foundations need to understand the dynamics of families concerning philanthropy.Funding will enable the center to focus on using technology to increase collaboration between family philanthropies and community foundations. Objectives include expanding online services such as a monthly teleconference series on key topics in family philanthropy and launching a community foundation online toolkit. In addition, the center will continue to offer workshops, seminars and presentations at community foundation conferences and other opportunities.Activities during the past year included developing and testing an online, subscription-based service that provides community foundations with an extensive database of information related to family philanthropy; convening a two-day community foundation CEO summit on family philanthropy; finishing research and planning for the online toolkit; and providing a series of seminars for community foundation staff.
