About this grant
This grant will continue to support the Coalition for Community Schools, a project of the Institute for Educational Leadership. The coalition began through a series of meetings beginning in 1998 and emerged as a more formal entity in 2000 to give a united voice to organizations and institutions from different sectors that are committed to developing and maintaining community schools. The coalition will build and mobilize a strong network of partners and educate the public and policymakers about the vision of community schools and expanded learning opportunities. Specifically, the grantee will work to strengthen connections with the afterschool field through continuing to develop more effective community schools that will benefit children and youth.
