About this grant

This is one of ten grants recommended to state organizations as part of the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative. The initiative was created by the Ford, Annie E. Casey, and Mott Foundations in 1992 in order to build state capacity for timely, credible, and accessible budget and tax analysis on behalf of low- and middle-income families. The District of Columbia’s fiscal project joined the initiative in 2000 and has become a respected source of analysis and perspective on budget and tax policy issues as well as safety net programs and broader economic trends. During the next two years, the grantee will prepare and disseminate its analytical products and strengthen its outreach to and partnerships with key audiences, including nonprofit organizations, policymakers, and the media. Related to this project is a grant to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which provides technical assistance to all 36 organizations participating in the initiative.
