About this grant

The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) is the national trade association of organizations committed to micro-enterprise development. Founded in 1991, its mission is to increase the capacity of self-employment organizations and to serve as the forum and voice for individuals and organizations committed to expanding enterprise opportunity for people and communities with limited access to economic resources.Funding will enable AEO to foster exchange between practitioners; encourage increased investment in enterprise opportunity for low-income people by the public and private sectors; and continue to play an integral role in the development of micro-enterprise programs and policies through training and advocacy efforts.Since its inception, AEO has improved its capacity to provide valuable services to its members and has made an impact on federal micro-enterprise policy. It has provided more than 450 members with a learning forum, funding information and a policy voice.
