About this grant
The Hungarian Association for Community Development works to promote community development by conducting seminars and training courses; providing networking opportunities for community development professionals; and facilitating a variety of grassroots activities in rural communities.Multiyear funding will support activities that include assisting communities in developing new structures, such as community councils and cross-sector community partnerships at the local level; providing different kinds of educational opportunities on the theme of community development; strengthening the communication and cooperation within the network of community development practitioners; and facilitating the exchange of experiences between various countries.Accomplishments during the past two years included providing small grants and development support to 23 local grassroots projects across Hungary; conducting training courses and workshops for interested communities and professionals; promoting community development through the Civil Radio and the Web; and participating in international projects to increase the role and professionalism of community development in Central/Eastern Europe and Russia.
