About this grant

The Support Training Results in Valuable Employees (STRIVE) program provides employment training, placement and support to low-income job seekers. Since 1985, STRIVE has been replicated in more than a dozen locations nationally and internationally and has helped thousands of low-income youth and adults enter the workforce or retain employment.Multiyear funding will support efforts to implement the STRIVE model on national workforce development policy and practice; develop innovative national strategies for workforce development; and implement a management information system to evaluate the progress of STRIVE affiliates.During the past five years, the 24-community-based STRIVE affiliates in New York City and around the country have placed more than 25,000 low-income individuals in entry-level employment opportunities and helped retain employment for nearly 80 percent of those placed.
