About this grant
This grant to CEE Bankwatch Network continues support for a network of nongovernmental organizations in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia that monitors activities of international financial institutions and advocates for the adoption of environmentally sustainable development policies by these institutions. Members of the network work together to provide policy analysis, generate local participation in decisionmaking processes of these institutions, and attract international attention to key issues facing the region, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. Mott general purposes support during 2004-2006 enabled the network to expand its membership and partnerships with nongovernmental organizations across this broad region, effectively lead an international campaign focused on increasing the transparency of the European Investment Bank, and hold networking meetings and strategic planning events. The network is registered in the Czech Republic, and its executive director is based in Krakow, Poland.
