About this grant

The Foundation Center is a national organization that collects, analyzes, and publishes information on foundations and philanthropy. The grantee operates five regional libraries and a network of 460 funding information centers throughout the country. It provides training and information resources for grantseeking organizations and individuals. Its databases contain profiles of more than 100,000 grantmakers and more than two million grants around the world. The grantee also produces and disseminates research on foundations and nonprofits they support as well as strategic communications that promote public understanding of philanthropy. This grant increase will allow the grantee to merge three projects into its ongoing strategic activities. All three projects — Foundation Finances, Diversity in Philanthropy Research Metrics, and IssueLab — were supported by the Mott Foundation. As a result, tools and resources from these projects will be better positioned to reach key stakeholders, leverage impact, and ensure greater long-term value to the field.
