About this grant
The Third World Network Berhad is an international network of organizations and individuals involved in research and policy analysis of global issues and their impact on developing countries.This grant will enable the network to continue participating in the ongoing trade discussions taking place at the World Trade Organization. A continued presence in Geneva will enable the network to build on the progress made over the past five years by increasing the awareness of the impacts of international finance and trade on sustainable development, and strengthening the capacity of non-governmental organizations and decisionmakers in developing countries to effectively participate in international discussions on these issues.During the past grant period, the network’s work was critical in assisting developing country negotiators prepare for the World Trade Organization ministerial meeting in Hong Kong. In particular, it played a critical role in the negotiations and discussions on industrial tariffs and services.
