About this grant
Synergos Institute (Southern Africa) promotes systemic change in Africa by strengthening collaborative leadership and supporting partnerships that promote equitable access to basic human rights and services among governments, civil society institutions, and the private sector. Mott has provided general purpose support to the grantee to implement its various programs, including convening leaders of philanthropic organizations from southern Africa for mutual learning and sharing experiences. The grantee also supported the African Senior Fellows network, a network of experienced civil society leaders committed to collaborative efforts that address the underlying causes of poverty and inequality. This grant will continue to provide general purpose support to the grantee. One of the key activities over the next two years will be promoting the growth of philanthropy in Africa through building the leadership capacity of key grantmaking institutions.
