About this grant
The mission of the Slovak Donors Forum is to improve the efficiency of grantmaking for the benefit of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as the conditions for philanthropy and the culture of giving in Slovakia.Multiyear funding will support objectives that include improving existing services while developing new ones for regular and associated members; strengthening corporate philanthropy in Slovakia; increasing the amount of public sources accessible to donors; developing the professional skills and abilities of grantmakers; expanding donors’ understanding of the consequences and opportunities of Slovakia’s accession to the European Union; and promoting international cooperation.During the past two years, accomplishments included providing stimulating platforms for donors to discuss and develop initiatives to improve the legal environment for philanthropy; facilitating donor working groups for Roma projects and citizen engagement in general elections; participating in the international networking of grantmakers associations; and establishing a closer working relationship with the Czech Donors Forum.
