About this grant

The Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA), founded by the Rockefeller Family Fund in 1987, provides opportunities for grantmakers to gain awareness and understanding of issues that are important to the environmental community and discuss grantmaking strategies and areas for collaboration. EGA created the Funders Network on Trade and Globalization (FNTG) to raise awareness of the importance of international trade and other globalization issues to the funding community and promote opportunities for collaboration.Multiyear funding will provide support to EGA and FNTG. Funding will enable EGA to continue providing programs and services for its members by improving governance, convening meetings, facilitating working groups, disseminating information, and encouraging synergy between environmental grantmakers and environmental practitioners. Funding will allow FNTG to continue supporting foundations and other donors in their efforts to promote sustainable development in the United States and around the world. Additional funding will support travel, accommodations and conference fees for three speakers that will participate in panels co-sponsored by the Funders Network on Trade and Globalization at the Grantmakers Without Borders Conference in Miami, Florida in October 2004. Recent accomplishments included facilitating activities to increase funder education and collaboration; maintaining active Web sites for their membership and grantseekers; and conducting outreach to new members.
