About this grant
The Senior Fellows Program, created by the Synergos Institute in 1999, identifies talented foundation leaders from key philanthropic institutions worldwide and links them to a global learning and service network. Senior fellows serve as peer consultants to developing foundations and associations of grantmakers around the world, and their work produces knowledge on trends and innovative models. This grant will enable the institute foster a greater sense of ownership of the network by the senior fellows; increase the global impact of the network; provide more opportunities for all fellows to be engaged in the program; and capture and disseminate the knowledge generated by the network more effectively.During the past year, activities included diversifying the geographical composition of senior fellows from 25 countries to 28; providing senior fellows with varied learning opportunities; enabling senior fellows to provide technical assistance and capacity-building to emerging community foundations and grantmakers throughout the world; and establishing an advisory committee of five current senior fellows to select the next class of senior fellows, review program achievements and shortcomings, and plan for the future.
