About this grant

This grant will enable the National Training and Information Center (NTIC) to continue working to strengthen grassroots community organizations involved in education reform initiatives. Specific objectives include providing technical assistance to community organizations to create local school funding campaigns that engage corporate, government and community stakeholders; developing local and national leadership teams equipped to win education reform on the issue of school finance; increasing collaboration for education reform among parents, students, schools, churches and advocacy organizations; and building community-corporate partnerships at the local and national levels to work toward solutions to budget shortfalls and develop plans for the future of education funding.Since the mid-1990s, NTIC has been working to train staff and leaders from many community organizations seeking to strengthen community-driven school reform initiatives. Beginning in 2001, the organization added a regranting component to support education organizing initiatives.
