About this grant

Les Amis de la Terre has been actively engaged in encouraging the French government to support the reform of international financial institutions, including export credit agencies, for almost ten years. This project aims to achieve far-reaching reforms of international financial institutions in order to foster sustainable economic and social development and promote the prudent use of natural resources. To achieve its project objectives, Les Amis de la Terre will conduct public outreach on environmentally destructive and socially harmful projects, participate in dialogues with French government and public institution officials, and collaborate with other French and developing country nongovernmental organizations in evaluation and monitoring of projects financed by the international financial institutions. This renewal grant also will continue support for organizational capacity-building activities including professionalizing media relations, increasing fundraising capacity, and expanding the membership base.
