About this grant

The goal of the Corporation for Enterprise Development’s Federal and State Asset Policy project is to promote asset-building policies that are progressive, open-ended and available to everyone, especially the poor. At the federal level, the project works to move larger-scale Individual Development Account (IDA) policies forward in Congress; and introduce new asset-building strategies in federal policy circles. At the state level, the project provides state advocates and policymakers with information, resources and tools to craft well-designed IDA policies; and build the capacity of state-level networks and coalitions to advance IDA policies at the state and federal levels.Multiyear funding will support objectives that include informing policymakers about the importance of sustaining support for IDAs; producing and disseminating federal and state policy briefs; conducting and disseminating research on asset-building incentives or barriers within federal and state budgets; strengthening the Alliance for IDA Tax Credits; and convening academics, policy analysts, financial institutions and practitioners to identify, develop and prioritize alternative approaches to sustaining support for IDAs.
