About this grant
The goal of the Together project is to help ethnically diverse Romanian communities, with significant Roma populations, to identify and address local needs through community-development initiatives.Multiyear funding will support program expansion to include an additional 14 communities in two new regions of Romania, Moldova and Muntenia. Key objectives include training 12 new Roma community facilitators; creating local initiative groups with representatives of all ethnic groups in the 14 communities; strengthening local community actions initiated by Roma and non-Roma leaders through partnerships, networking and small grants; and evaluating the program and disseminating lessons learned.Accomplishments during the past two years included identifying 12 multiethnic communities within two regions of Romania, Transylvania and Banat; training 12 community facilitators; organizing training for local community groups; and providing small grants for 10 community initiatives.
