About this grant
The World Affairs Council of Northern California developed the Global Philanthropy Forum to inform and expand the community of donors committed to international causes. The forum brings together foundation leaders, non-governmental organizations, individual donors and others to learn more about international philanthropy opportunities. The 2004 conference will examine the potential and practical aspects of building partnerships with governmental and intergovernmental agencies, private businesses and civil society organizations.Funding will support the 2004 conference and outreach activities to expose donors to key issues and enable them to share funding strategies and collaborate with other donors. The conference, entitled, “Building Partnerships Across Sectors,” will include two days of plenaries, panels and informal networking time with philanthropists from around the world. The 2003 conference focused on poverty and examined three regions where poverty persists. It emphasized tested strategies for systemic change, with special attention to investing in children.
