About this grant

This grant will enable the Global Philanthropy Forum – a project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California – to hold the 2005 Annual Conference on Borderless Giving. The goal of the forum is to support and expand the number of donors dedicated to international causes by bring together foundation leaders, non-governmental organizations, individual donors and others to learn more about international philanthropy.Funding will support the annual conference to be held on the Stanford University campus. The 2005 conference will explore topics that include trends in philanthropy, the development of youth philanthropy worldwide, giving strategically at every economic level, work with local philanthropists, the development of community foundations internationally, and advocacy and philanthropy.The 2004 annual conference focused on the United Nations’ millennium development goals and was attended by 383 philanthropists and others interested in the role of public/private partnerships to promote philanthropic goals.
