About this grant
The Global Philanthropy Forum is a project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California. The forum’s mission is to build a learning community of donors and social investors committed to international causes and to inform, enable, and enhance the strategic nature of their giving. At present, the forum is comprised of a network of over 600 donors. Its feature activity is an annual conference, which attracts more than 400 participants. In a recent survey, more than one-third of conference attendees reported increasing international giving as a direct result of their participation. Other forum services include on-site and conference call programs, a summer seminar, online and written resources, and an ongoing service of donor-recipient matchmaking and strategic advice. In 2007-08, the forum intends to develop and begin implementing a strategic plan which will allow it to devise and move to a sustainable financial model.
