About this grant
The Global Philanthropy Forum is a project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California. The forum’s mission is to build a learning community of donors and social investors committed to international causes and to inform, enable, and enhance the strategic nature of their giving. At present, the forum is comprised of a network of over 750 donors and 60 members. Its feature activity is an annual conference, which last year attracted more than 500 participants and featured high profile speakers such as Desmond Tutu, Mary Robinson, and Richard Branson. Other forum services include on-site and conference call programs, a summer seminar, online resources, and an ongoing service of donor-recipient matchmaking and strategic advice. In 2009, the forum will continue its services, seek to build and refresh a lasting learning community, and offer its members entry into a wide variety of opportunities provided by partners such as the Aspen Institute.
