About this grant
The Global Philanthropy Forum is a project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California. The project’s mission is to build a community of donors and social investors committed to international causes and to inform, enable, and enhance the strategic nature of their work. Forum services include an annual conference, learning events in the San Francisco Bay Area, online resources, and donor-recipient matchmaking. Over the past several years, the grantee has established partnerships and helped organize gatherings of philanthropists in Brazil, Columbia, and Singapore. In 2014-2015, the grantee will host annual conferences in the Bay Area and in Washington, D.C., and provide other learning and partnering opportunities. It will launch the first conference of the Africa Philanthropy Forum in 2014 in Addis Ababa. The World Affairs Council of Northern California is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization devoted to engaging the public in a discussion of the transnational issues of tomorrow.
