About this grant
Founded in 2001, the Global Philanthropy Forum is a project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California. The project aims to build, sustain, and continuously revitalize a learning community of private donors and social investors committed to international causes. Through conferences, tailored programs, and individual contacts, the project connects donors to one another and to foundation executives, policymakers, issue experts, leaders of civil society organizations, and social entrepreneurs. Over the past several years, the project has established partnerships and helped organize gatherings of philanthropists in Brazil and Africa. In 2018, the grantee will host annual conferences in the Bay Area and in London. The project will continue to provide other learning and partnering opportunities, including its affiliate relationships with the Brazilian and African Philanthropy Forums. The World Affairs Council of Northern California is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization devoted to engaging the public in a discussion of the transnational issues of tomorrow.
