About this grant
Tennessee’s rivers and streams support a rich diversity of plant and animal life, yet the state’s waters face a variety of threats, including pollution from sewage plants and stormwater runoff, creating a pressing need for more effective protections. With previous Mott support, the Tennessee Clean Water Network, a state leader in promoting water quality improvements, has worked to enhance and protect water quality and increase citizen involvement in water policy decisions. Renewal support will enable the network to build the capacity of local groups, promote policies to improve the health of waters statewide, and strengthen the organization’s own capacity to grow its board, membership, and funding base.
