About this grant
The Africa Grantmakers Affinity Group, a program of the Tides Center, is a membership-based organization that funds in Africa. Since 2000, the grantee has organized member retreats in the United States that provide a platform for members and other funders to come together to share and learn from each other on issues of common interest and to improve the effectiveness of their grantmaking strategies for Africa. In February 2008, the Africa Grantmakers Affinity Group will hold its annual retreat in Johannesburg and will combine the event with a conference on resource mobilization, to which a range of stakeholders working in the African continent will be invited. This grant increase will support the Africa Grantmakers Affinity Group to organize this event.
