About this grant
The Balkan Community Initiatives Fund-Serbia and Montenegro works to strengthen local democracy and civil society in Serbia and Montenegro by providing small grants and technical assistance to local non-governmental organizations. In addition to its grantmaking, the fund conducts national and regional projects to foster philanthropy and encourage good practices in community development.Multiyear support will enable the fund to increase its annual grantmaking, focusing on projects that increase community participation in addressing local issues; gather and share good practices and experiences in the field of community development; and strengthen corporate-sector giving and cross-sector cooperation.Recent accomplishments included supporting 51 community-based initiatives; developing and implementing a project to collect examples of good community development practices in Central/Eastern Europe; and commissioning the first survey of philanthropy in Serbia and Montenegro.
