About this grant
This grant will continue to support the efforts of the National School Boards Association to advance school leadership and policy development with respect to the creation of afterschool opportunities for all students. This work will support the grantee’s efforts to develop and disseminate resources that will enable and encourage local school boards to provide policy leadership for building and sustaining effective community-school partnerships to implement programs that expand the school day beyond traditional hours. The grantee will also focus on the need to develop resources and craft communication strategies for school boards associations who recognize the value of afterschool, while raising awareness among school board members who may not fully understand the benefits of quality afterschool activities. In addition, technical assistance will be provided to support state associations.
