About this grant

The program goal is to mobilize financial resources and promote philanthropy in Bulgaria. During the grant period, the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation will promote workplace and payroll giving schemes, administer corporate giving programs, train nongovernmental organizations on local resource mobilization and financial management, and advocate for a legal and fiscal environment that encourages philanthropy. The foundation was established in 1995 with the mission to develop philanthropy in Bulgaria and increase resources available for charitable purposes. The foundation is on the forefront of developing innovative approaches to unlocking financial resources through individual and corporate giving in Bulgaria. The foundation’s key achievements in 2006-2007 included raising over $470,000 from individuals and companies in Bulgaria for regranting, providing training in local resource mobilization to 40 nonprofits; and consulting over 50 companies on their philanthropic programs.
