About this grant
The project was created in late 2001 to provide community foundation board members with opportunities to understand their responsibilities and discuss various issues with their peers.Third-year funding will enable the organization to continue exploring the unique challenges facing community foundations; refining the training curriculum and materials; introducing customized online board self-assessment tools for community foundation leaders; and strengthening its capacity to provide tailored consulting services. In addition, the project will provide training to community foundation board members at Council on Foundation (COF) events; disseminate the "Guide for Community Foundation Board Members" to a wider audience; and share recent developments in community foundation governance.Since its creation, accomplishments included developing and distributing the guide; piloting a curriculum for new members; and conducting training sessions at five COF events.
