About this grant
The Centre for Anti-Racism and Anti-Sexism Trust focuses on transforming attitudes and practices through training and facilitation, research, and initiatives to develop and implement action plans to combat racism and sexism. The organization recently changed its operating name to Caring About Rights and Responsibilities Across Societies, to reflect a new direction and orientation in its approach, which will examine how issues of poverty and socioeconomic inequalities contribute to the perpetuation of racism and racial discrimination. This grant will provide support to the organization for this process of reorientation, particularly as this relates to integrating questions of economic justice into its training programs and enhancing the capacity of its staff and associates to deal with the socioeconomic challenges of building a nonracial democracy in South Africa.
