About this grant

The American Institute for Social Justice provides leadership and staff training, technical assistance, research, and project support to community organizing groups, including the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, commonly known by the acronym ACORN, one of the largest community organizing networks. This grant will support the American Institute for Social Justice’s efforts to expand the training and technical assistance provided to local ACORN groups to help them identify, recruit, and train additional organizers; provide ongoing professional and personal development opportunities for organizers; hold local and regional training events for leaders; develop new chapters; form partnerships with other organizing networks; and develop long-range, self-sufficiency plans for financial support.
